The accent pots shown on this page were made by me, Cecilia and my daughter Philippa (better known as Phyl) and although they all look the same size, they are not. They vary considerably. The bright yellow glaze took over 25 to perfect! As an educationalist I am always happy to share my knowledge and experience with everyone but the one exceptions is my glaze recipes and their technical application on the pots… this information I keep very close to my heart and never divulge. Sorry!

Fantastic bronze/red and bronze/white accent pots – great for some blue-green planting.

First, I’d like to say I am the proud
owner of one of Phyl’s pots (acquired at one of your exibitions in Bristo)
You have been very modest in your many talents and even I, your brother, have been ignorant of your developments. Astounded even!
Good luck for the future and send my love to Ce

Great pots! I really like your abstract accent pots. What do you have available? I’m interested in seeing what you have in accents pots and bunjin. I’m also looking for a slightly tall cascade pot.

Dan,
I wanted to ask you about overwintering kusamono. How do you suggest to do this. I have lost many plants by overwintering in the garage in Colorado. Do you have any better suggestions? Thanks, Randy

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your kind comments…. much appreciated.

I can’t generalise about winter treatment for your kusamono without knowing the species of plants you are using, but a lot of alpines and other species do die-back naturally in winter and re-emerge in the spring. I need to know what species are involved.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Dan,
I’d really like to buy some of your accent pots. I wondered if I could send you some photos of my favourites from your gallery and then my friend Simon Jones will collect and pay for them at the Bristol Bonsai Show.
Many thanks,
Kristina

Hi Dan,

Yours pots are really very beautiful and I’d love to have some of them in my small collection, but I can’t find where I can buy them. Could you help me?
Thanks!
